Board Member Feature: George Wong
George has served on numerous for-profit and non-profit boards, including as founder and past president of the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization of Manitoba (IRCOM), where he oversaw the funding and building of 67 settlement housing units in Winnipeg. George was a foundation council member with Seven Oaks General Hospital and a member of the Winnipeg Chinatown Banner Selection Jury Panel.
He is a past president of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Manitoba, founding president of the Burmese Community Organization of Manitoba, two-term National Board Director of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants, and co-founder of the Association of Foreign Medical Graduates of Manitoba, Inc., an organization which assists the Manitoba government with qualifying and certifying international medical graduates.
George is an entrepreneur, Fellow Certified Management Consultant, former CEO for a healthcare facility in the United States, and a Certified Management Consultant with an MBA from Ivey Business School.
