Festival Safety
Folklorama’s Safer Spaces Policy
At Folklorama, we believe that everyone deserves to feel welcome, valued, and safe—whether you’re a Festival-goer, volunteer, performer, or staff member.
Our Festival celebrates the diversity of cultures, traditions, and stories that make our community vibrant. We encourage creativity, freedom of expression, and meaningful dialogue—but never at the expense of others’ dignity or safety.
Folklorama is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for visitors from all cultures, background, genders, ages, abilities, and identities. Discrimination, harassment, sexual violence or misconduct, hate symbols, and any verbal or physical behavior that marginalizes or harms others will not be tolerated, regardless of intent.
Folklorama events and Pavilions are also subject to local, provincial, and federal laws. We ask that you respect the important role our Pavilions, Operations Team and community partners play in maintaining a safe and welcoming experience for all.
By participating in Folklorama—whether at a Pavilion, participating in a Group Tour, or at one of our special events—you agree to uphold our Safer Spaces Policy and join us in our mission of bringing people together by sharing ethno-cultural experiences and education.
Responsible Drinking
Many of our Pavilions offer cultural alcoholic beverages to go along with your meal.
We encourage you to make your Folklorama adventure a safe one by planning ahead. Designate a sober driver, utilize public transportation, taxis, or a ride-sharing service.
Please celebrate responsibly and get home safely!
