BOARD OF DIRECTORS INFORMATION
All Board applications are due to the Folklorama office by Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at noon.
Each year during and after the Festival, Folklorama’s Nominating Committee begins the important process of recruiting individuals to serve on Folklorama’s volunteer Board of Directors. Applicants must be in good standing of a current Folklorama organization or performing group or be registered as a Folklorama individual member. Please note that current Pavilion Coordinators are ineligible to apply for a position on the Board during their corresponding Festival term.
Serving on the Folklorama Board takes time and commitment but is a rewarding experience that provides support for Folklorama’s year-round governance functions. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older with a strong commitment to Folklorama’s mission and vision, found HERE. Leadership, integrity, organizational and time management skills, community development, and a positive, professional demeanor are vital qualities of Board members. Experience in governance boards and not-for-profit organizations is preferred.
Folklorama’s Board of Directors will begin their 2026 – 2027 terms immediately following the 2025 Annual General Meeting, taking place on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
COMMITTEES INFORMATION
All Committee applications are due to the Folklorama office by Thursday, April 2, 2026 at noon.
Folklorama is proud of its many dedicated volunteers who contribute to the ongoing success of the organization and its programs on behalf of its membership. Participation on the various Folklorama Board Committees is an important aspect of the volunteer program and a great way to learn more about the organization. Click the link HERE to learn more about Folklorama’s six standing Committees and their mandates, as well as Committee compositions. Committee members should have a passion for embracing and celebrating cultures from around the world, and the time, skills, and commitment to sit on a year-round Committee. Prior experience on not-for-profit boards or committees is valuable but not required. All Committee members are members of Folklorama, either as an individual or through a Folklorama membership organization. Terms run from April to end of March annually.
