Partner Profile: Cambrian Credit Union

Cambrian Credit Union was established in 1959. Since then, they have become one of the largest credit unions serving the Winnipeg and Selkirk marketplaces.

“Everything we do at Cambrian is guided by our five values, including Community Involvement; it’s rooted in our history”, states Kayla Lawson, Manager, Communications & Community Engagement. “We’re focused on member well-being, which includes positively impacting the communities where members live and work.”

Giving back to the community through economic development, corporate giving, and volunteer efforts in the areas of art and culture, community care, education, health and wellness, and financial literacy are important to Cambrian. They are proud to partner with, support, and invest in local organizations.

Being a partner of Folklorama has been one of Cambrian’s favourite ways to be involved in the community. Folklorama’s mission of celebrating diversity and promoting cultural understanding aligns with their core values. They are honoured to be the official presenter of the Ambassadors’ General program.

“Supporting and being involved in the Ambassador’s General Program has been motivating for our team,” states Lawson. “Hearing people share how Folklorama has impacted their life and allowed them to share their culture and learn from others is truly inspiring. It helps foster a sense of belonging and community, which is exactly why Cambrian supports organizations like Folklorama. Their programs are life-changing and help shape many experiences in friendship, leadership, and volunteerism for people in our province.”
