Partner Profile: Wyndham Garden

The Folklorama VIP and Custom Tours have made some changes this year. In an effort to promote local businesses, Folklorama is excited to announce a brand-new partnership with the Wyndham Garden Winnipeg Airport.

The Wyndham Garden Winnipeg Airport is a part of the Wyndham Garden group, with Sparrow Hotels Managing the property. This 132-room hotel features a unique curvature reflecting the circle of life.

Located on Treaty One Territory on Long Plain Madison Reserve, the city’s first urban reserve, the hotel showcases thoughtful design celebrating Indigenous culture and a tranquil colour scheme inspired by the Earth, bilingual signage, English and Ojibway. Smudging and pipe ceremonies are welcome in the hotel, with spaces built to fire code, keeping these important traditions front of mind.

The culinary offers will inspire your pallet with numerous dishes highlighting an earth-inspired menu with an Indigenous twist. The Bison Tacos feature mouth-watering Bannock. Bison chilli, fried pickerel cheeks and savoury salads are a great start to every meal.

“Folklorama is proud to welcome Wyndham Garden Winnipeg Airport to the Folklorama family,” states Kim Morphy, Director, Festival Operations & Partnerships. “At this hotel, we have been hosting our Pavilion Coordinator and Ambassadors meetings, trainings, and we look forward to having this location as one of the stops for our tour pick-ups.”

Terralyn Hanton, Sales & Catering Manager for the Wynham Garden Winnipeg Airport, is excited to welcome Folklorama to their hotel.

“Wyndham Garden Winnipeg Airport is happy to add to the multi-cultural experience that Folklorama brings to Winnipeg,” states Hanton. “As proudly representatives of the First Nation community of Long Plains, we welcome all to gather and visit our brand-new boutique hotel.”
