In October of 1991, the Zoloto Ukrainian Dance Ensemble had its humble beginnings with only 8 students between the ages of 12 and 17. They, along with their founder and Artistic Director, Keris Matskiw, embarked on the journey that would lead them to where they are today!

Over the years, they have expanded to include a dance school that has taught thousands of youth the exciting different regional styles of traditional Ukrainian dance. From festivals and performances across the country and abroad, Zoloto has won awards and accolades with their energetic, high-tempo performances. There is true joy and passion for passing along the culture and celebrating it with the public. Their Folklorama performances, both on the big pavilion stage and other smaller venues, always satisfy.

Over the years, Zoloto has grown to become one of Canada’s most vibrant and entertaining Ukrainian folk dance companies and have captivated audiences on 3 different continents with their powerful and awe-inspiring style of dance.
