Giving To The Community As a Community
Putting together the Folklorama Festival is a tremendous feat, but knowing the support from Gallagher is there helps ensure the festival remains strong.
Founded in 1927, Gallagher is one of the world’s largest global insurance, risk management, and benefits consulting firms.
For nearly 100 years, Gallagher has been committed to helping clients thrive and solve unique challenges, their own teammates excel, and communities they work with prosper. With their client-first approach, they have rightfully earned a reputation as one of the top brokerages worldwide.
People and community have always been central to Gallagher’s mission. Gallagher’s culture of ethics guides every decision and interaction they have, whether through their client relations or community support initiatives.
“The Gallagher team supports the community in a variety of ways,” states Ken Aird, Vice President, Commercial Sales for Prairie Region at Gallagher. “From toy and clothing drives, fundraisers, scholarships and more.”
Whether Gallagher team members are partnering with clients to deliver pizza to health care workers during National Nurses Week, encouraging local hockey fans to support the Winnipeg Jets Toy Drive by dropping off an unwrapped gift or cash donations to Gallagher locations, raising funds for Danica and Abby’s Village: Buddy Benches, a space for children in Manitoba to go to, or partnering with Folklorama, they always put community first.
“For over ten years, Gallagher has supported the Folklorama community as a proud partner,” states Kim Morphy, Director, Festival Operations & Partnerships. “Gallagher provides support services for liability and insurance, as well as financially. Organizations like Gallagher help Folklorama bring diverse programming to communities throughout Winnipeg that contribute to fostering vibrant communities based on inclusion and diversity.”
Each year that Gallagher team members visit Folklorama, they marvel at the dedication of each pavilion’s volunteers and specifically, the youth who are committed to being a part of the organization.
“What resonates with us most about Folklorama’s mission is the importance of sharing one’s culture and ensuring that younger generations are aware of their great ancestry,” states Ken Aird. “At Gallagher, we see value in diversity and want all of our team members to bring their whole and authentic selves to work every day. We feel this is something we have in common with Folklorama.”
