Splendore D’Italia Folk Dancers are dedicated to the preservation of authentic Italian folk dance. The group’s performances continue the strong tradition of folk dances from all over Italy, telling stories of harvest time, courtship and folklore. Audiences celebrate their enjoyment of the dancers through singing and clapping along with the lively music.
The Sons and Daughters of Italy Splendore D’Italia Folk Dancers were established in 1996 and are comprised of 20+ children of Italian descent from Winnipeg’s Italian Community. These talented young dancers range in age from 9 to 18 years old and have been invited to perform annually at Folklorama, the world’s largest and longest-running multicultural festival, exclusively at the Italian Pavilion.
The Senior Performing Group is proud to perform throughout the year at events within the Italian Community, multicultural celebrations throughout Winnipeg and at educational institutions.
The group has also made a name for its altruistic approach toward volunteering in the community at large and continues to be invited to take part in community events that help support numerous causes.
