The Casa do Minho Portuguese Folk Dancers devote their time to teaching and sharing their culture with all Manitobans. The name ‘Casa do Minho’ means ‘Home of Minho’, the first province of Portugal. Their repertoire primarily reflects the province of Minho, but the dances of other regions are also incorporated to present the traditions of beautiful Portugal. Their performance includes not only the dancers but also their own live Portuguese band. The band consists of accordions, guitars, and percussionists. The combination of their traditional and colorful costumes, talented musicians and accomplished dancers results in a lively show that thrills audiences of all ages. The group can be seen every year at Folklorama’s Casa Do Minho Pavilion.
