Pysanka are traditional dyed and decorated eggs designed using symbols with a wax resist method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, “to write” or “to inscribe”, as the designs are not painted on, but written (inscribed) with beeswax.
Come join us in a online workshop to learn the intricate techniques for creating these beautiful works of Ukrainian folk art as well as the tradition and symbolism behind them. Class length: 1-1.5 hours
Workshop Fee:

Work along with the artist – add on the kit for $40.
Kit includes: Dyes, Kistka, bees wax, thank you gift. Due to shipping concerns, the kit does not include eggs. Please pick up and prep in advance. Details to follow.

This Multimedia Specialist and mother of two has always celebrated her culture. A former dancer and instructor with Zoloto Ukrainian Dance for ten years she now looks forward to being a dance mom as her children start to learn traditional Ukrainian dance.
Raelene, ever passionate to learn from her family about the ethnic traditions and customs of her culture has spent years perfecting Ukrainian arts, crafts and cooking. Having hosted cultural workshops in the past for Zoloto dance students, she is now eager to pass along her knowledge to her children and those who wish to join the upcoming virtual workshop.
