Sharing stories and celebrating culture in partnership with Bell Media

As we look back on another phenomenal Folklorama Festival, we are so grateful for the widespread support we received from Manitobans! The excitement was palpable as we approached the Festival and the city geared up for two wonderful weeks of sharing ethno-cultural experiences and education.

A lot of the hype generated for the Festival was thanks to Bell Media, one of our valued media partners. Bell Media does an amazing job promoting Folklorama and our Pavilions across their TV and radio outlets: CTV Winnipeg, 103.1 Virgin Radio, and BOUNCE 99.9 FM.

From commercials on CTV to segments on Your Morning Winnipeg, and ads across both radio stations, their promotion of the Festival was nearly nonstop in the weeks leading up the Festival. On top of that, you’re bound to have heard about the contest for Folklorama tickets on all Bell Media outlets.

When we chatted with our friends at Bell Media, they made a point to mention how much these ticket giveaways generate enthusiasm for our Festival. “The Folklorama contest has been one of CTV, 103.1 Virgin Radio, and BOUNCE 99.9’s longest standing and most exciting contests for our viewers and listeners. There is huge interest from them in attending Folklorama!” states Violet Newediuk-Fosty, Account Executive at Bell Media.

These contests also help make lifelong memories for those who win them. Violet recounts one contest winner from this past Festival: “One of our winners this year said she used to go to as many Pavilions as she could when she was young adult. She entered our contest hoping to experience the nostalgia and great times of her youth, and she realized this was an opportunity to share the experience with her kids. She visited 31 Pavilions with her teenaged son and daughter who loved it, and she said it was one of the best experiences for them as a family.”

Bell Media has been proudly supporting Folklorama for many years and we want to thank them for their continued support of Folklorama and for helping to share the magic of our Festival with their viewers and listeners. Folklorama is truly unique, and we are lucky to be working with media partners who take pride in ensuring that as many people as possible experience it.
