MISSION:
To promote cultural expression through dance that showcases Colombian folklore and traditions within the Canadian community. FDMT Dance Inc. provides a space where Colombian children and adults can participate, connect with, and live their original culture through the performing arts, creating an inclusive space for learning, expression, and cultural pride.
ORIGIN:
FDMT was founded in 2003 by its members with the vision of sharing Colombia’s rich cultural heritage. From 2008 to 2015, the group operated as a nonprofit organization under the name Folklore de Mi Tierra Inc. In October 2023, the organization transitioned into a private incorporation, officially becoming FDMT DANCE INC. Its founder, Gloria Nancy Jimenez, has served as the group’s director since its inception.
We have performed at a variety of events, including:
